Juventus could be banned from Serie A if they don’t withdraw from Super League

Juventus are not having the best season this year. Their 9-year title winning streak has been broken by Inter Milan. Additionally, they could be competing in the Europa League next season if their decline in form continues.

If that wasn’t enough, there is a chance that Juventus could be kicked out of Serie A completely. That is according to the President of Italian football, Gabriele Gravina himself.

‘The rules are clear. If Juventus is still part of the Super League when it enters next season, it can’t participate in Serie A,’ Gravina told Naples radio station, Kiss Kiss.

‘I would be sorry for the fans but rules are rules and they apply to everyone.’

‘I hope this holdout ends soon,’ Gravina added.

Juventus, along with both Milan teams, was part of the 12 founding members of the European Super League. While both Inter and Milan have dropped out of the plans for the Super League and have agreed on terms with UEFA to respect its rules, Juventus remain firm in their pro-Super League stance.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are also with Juventus, and could also face disciplinary action from UEFA.

Juventus are currently in 5th place following their 3-0 defeat to AC Milan last night. A ban from Serie A on top of a disastrous season by their standards would be not only shocking for fans but also very harmful for the club.

The Bianconeri are not in a very good position financially either. This could possibly spell an extremely difficult time ahead, and they might have to let go of some of their best players to raise funds in either case.
