Jota Al Ittihad transfer: Personal terms agreed with 24-year-old Celtic winger

Jota Al Ittihad transfer: Celtic winger Jota is set to join Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad, having agreed personal terms with them. The two clubs are now discussing a possible fee in the region of €30 million for the player, and are expected to come to an agreement soon to finalise the transfer.

The 24-year-old would be joining N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema as the major new signings for Al Ittihad from Europe this summer. Both Kante and Benzema have signed as free agents, but have received a massive contract offer to play for the club. And the same can be expected in the case of Jota.

Jota Al Ittihad transfer latest: Full agreement imminent for Portuguese winger

In spite of joining permanently only a year ago, and signing a contract until 2027, he is close to moving on from the Scottish champions. Celtic had a remarkable 2022/23 where they won the domestic treble under Ange Postecoglou. And while the manager has moved on to Spurs, Jota is likely to exit Europe altogether in favour of a massive payday in the Middle East.

The agreement is expected to be finalised next week, after which Al Ittihad are set to pursue more players. This past season, the Benfica academy graduate scored 15 goals and provided 12 assists across 43 games in all competitions. As a result, he will be a great new signing for the Saudi club.

And it now remains to be seen which other players from Europe end up joining him at Al Ittihad after he completes the move in the coming weeks.
