Jose Mourinho is close to becoming the new manager of Turkish club Fenerbahce, with a two-year contract on the table until 2026. According to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, there is also the option for another season included in the deal.
The Portuguese was sacked by Roma five months ago after a downturn in results this season, replacing him with legend Daniele De Rossi. Roma eventually went on to finish sixth in the table without their beloved Special One, after a change in approach by De Rossi.

This past season was a bitter one for Fenerbahce, as their rivals, Galatasaray went on to claim the Turkish Lig title while they finished second for the third consecutive year.
Mourinho was surprisingly linked with a move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah as the sporting director. While those have now been put to bed with the Special One’s 11th managerial appointment just around the corner, he said that it was only a matter of time before he managed in Saudi.
The deal with Fenerbahce has been negotiated by Mourinho’s super agent, Jorge Mendes, and will be signed very soon, which will be followed by an official announcement from the club. Until then, the 61-year-old will work as a pundit at TNT Sports, offering insights for the Champions League final on June 1 between his former club Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
