BTS Jin to Release A Solo Album

In December 2021, Jin first released a short version of the full song “Super Tuna,” which immediately topped Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales and Digital Song Sales charts, while also marking an unprecedented run in its Hot Trending Songs chart for over the course of 45 weeks. This past summer, Jin wrapped up mandatory military service and entered 2022 with the first of his solo debuts: “The Astronaut,” which was co-written by Coldplay. Jin was the only one of his bandmates who had yet to release a full album outside of BTS until now.

Jin also talked about his military service in a recent interview with Weverse magazine, as well as returning to music through “Super Tuna.” He mentioned, “Fortunately, the guys all finished making their own albums before enlisting, and now Jimin’s is coming out. That made me think I better not wait too long to release mine after his is out, so I’m working to get it done fast.” Jin also expressed a desire to appear on variety shows and has secured ad space on prominent billboards to reconnect with his fans, the ARMY.

Since completing his military service in June, Jin participated in the Olympic torch relay for the 2024 Paris Olympics and plans to appear on the Netflix variety show “Kian’s Bizarre B&B.” In his statement, he said, “I’m focusing on recording music and filming variety shows while trying to show my face as much as possible. The results will be out in a few months, so please wait a little longer.”
