Jeremie Boga is set to complete his transfer to Atalanta in the coming hours. The player will undergo his medical in the coming hours and will be officially announced as a new player for La Dea when he completes it.
The winger’s contract with the black and green club was set to expire in June 2023, and they would’ve had to sell him in the summer if he didn’t renew. Atalanta have swooped in for the player and will be registering him this week itself.
Atalanta to complete move for Jeremie Boga this week
Sassuolo will receive €22 million for their winger from Atalanta, and Boga will sign a five-year deal that will keep him there till 2026. He will be one of the first Serie A transfers of the January transfer window, alongside Jonathan Ikone, who will move to Fiorentina from Lille.
Ukrainian club Shakhtar were in the race for Jeremie Boga, and offered a cash plus player swap deal. But, Sassuolo rejected their advances and have now struck a deal with their fellow Serie A club for a transfer deal.
Atalanta are currently fourth in the Serie A table and are also in contention for the Europa League knockout stages. The arrival of a skillful young winger like Boga will surely give them a boost up front.
While he hasn’t scored for Sassuolo this season, Jeremie Boga has provided three assists in 12 games for them. And for an intense attacking line-up like the one Gian Piero Gasperini has assembled, he can be a big threat for opposition defenders.
