Jamshedpur FC will participate in the Hero Super Cup tournament in April

Jamshedpur FC will be a part of the 2022-23 Hero Super Cup as one of the Hero Indian Super League sides participating in the tournament come April. 

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has announced that 16 teams will take part in the tournament and the same will take place between April 8-25, 2023.

Kerala has been chosen as the venue for the event, with two of three cities, Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram set to host the tournament this year. 

Jamshedpur FC will participate in Hero Super Cup tournament in April

The Men of Steel will be among the 11 Hero ISL teams gaining automatic qualification along with the Champions of the 2022-23 Hero I-League, while other Hero I-League sides will compete for the four remaining group stage spots. 

The 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four teams each and will compete in a single round-robin format. The four winners in their respective groups will then qualify to play the semi-finals of the tournament. 

The group stage will be held from April 8-19, with the semi-finals on April 21st and 22nd. The final will be held on April 25th.

It is also pertinent to note that the winners of the Hero Super Cup will play 2021-22 Hero I-League Champions Gokulam Kerala FC for a spot in the 2023-24 AFC Cup group stage.
