Jamshedpur FC and Hyderabad FC played out a 1-1 draw in the ISL, sharing a point each. Both teams are now just outside the top four and are eyeing up a spot in the playoffs. Here are the three key talking points from the game.
A draw with a highlight package
Draws can often be boring, but this was certainly not the case for Jamshedpur FC and Hyderabad FC. A number of golden opportunities both found their way to the players, but were unable to be put away.
A remarkable performance from both teams sees them rightfully share the points three games into the new season.
Strike partners: solid as steel
Nerijus Valskis and Greg Stewart were working really well up front for the Men of Steel. The two forwards combined numerous times throughout the game to create opportunities and were on the same wavelength on the pitch.
Jamshedpur’s resurgence is being spearheaded by these two strikers, and things are looking good for their attack. The two players have the ability to find each other going forward, and all that’s needed is the ability to put away chances more clinically.
The missed goal of the season
Greg Stewart had a chance to score the goal of the season. After stealing the ball near the touchline, the Scottish centre-forward began a run from close to the halfway line. He dribbled past a number of yellow shirts before launching his effort on goal.
And to his dismay, the ball hit the far post and flashed across the face of goal before going outside. Had the shot went through, they would’ve won the game with a surefire goal of the season candidate.
Jamshedpur FC will face a tough test in ATK Mohun Bagan up next. Hyderabad FC on the other hand, take on Bengaluru FC in their next encounter in the ISL.
