Jailer 2 Roars Past Rs 272 Crore: Rajinikanth Proves Monday Blues Don’t Apply to Thalaivar

Most films wobble on their first Monday. Jailer 2 barely blinked. Rajinikanth’s latest has held firm after a record-breaking weekend, and the Rs 300 crore mark is now within reach.

How Did Jailer 2 Do on Monday?

After its huge weekend, the Nelson Dilipkumar action drama collected Rs 48.25 crore on its first Monday. That is only a 28 per cent drop from opening day, which is a very strong hold for a big release. The 5-day India gross now stands at Rs 272.25 crore.

Where Is the Money Coming From?

Tamil Nadu naturally leads, having crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in the home market. But the film’s reach is what stands out. Telugu markets, Kerala and Karnataka have all delivered big numbers, which shows the film works well beyond its home turf.

What Happens Next?

The film is expected to post another solid day on Tuesday thanks to the Dussehra holiday, and trade watchers expect it to keep drawing crowds for a couple of weeks. Based on current trends, it is on track to become the new Industry Hit of Kollywood.

Why This Matters?

A strong Monday often signals good word of mouth and long legs at the box office. Combined with a festival holiday, Jailer 2 has the right ingredients to keep climbing and chase the Rs 300 crore club.
