Ivan Toney has completed a transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli on a permanent deal from Brentford. The Bees have earned a sum worth £40 million by selling their star striker, who was left out of the first few games of the season owing to uncertainty over his future.

The forward completed his medical tests in London for the transfer, and has signed a contract till 2028 with the Saudi club. The 28-year-old will join Roberto Firmino and Riyad Mahrez at the club as part of the attacking line-up.

The England international spent four years with Brentford and established himself as a club icon during that time. His contribution was vital in helping them earn promotion to the Premier League for the first time ever. And he also helped them stay in the division and maintain a presence in the middle of the table.

Toney scored 72 goals and provided 23 assists in 121 games for the Bees, and now takes his first step abroad with a move to Saudi.

Al Ahli also had an agreement with Napoli to sign Victor Osimhen, but were unable to get the deal over the line for the Nigerian. As a result, they went ahead with Ivan Toney as their new striker for the foreseeable future.

How many England caps does Toney have?

Six, with one goal scored
