  • Concussion Substitutes: Teams are allowed one concussion substitute per match, in addition to the standard substitutions. If a player is replaced due to a concussion, the opposing team also gets an extra substitution.
  • Indian Assistant Coach: Every ISL team is now required to have an Indian assistant coach holding an AFC Pro License. This rule promotes the development of Indian coaching talent.
  • Appeal for Wrongful Dismissals: Clubs can appeal against wrongful red cards if a player is believed to be unfairly sent off. However, appeals for second yellow card dismissals or offensive language cases are not allowed.
  • Increased Salary Cap & Homegrown Player Rule: Teams can now register up to three players under the ‘Homegrown Player’ category, exempt from salary cap restrictions. To qualify, these players must be 23 years old or younger and have been with the club for at least three years.
