ISAC Chuseok 2026 Officially Cancelled: MBC Confirms No Idol Star Athletics Championships This Year

If you were waiting for that chaotic, wholesome week of idols running, archery fails, and unexpected friendships — I have some disappointing news. MBC has officially confirmed that Idol Star Athletics Championships ISAC confirmed not to take place for Chuseok 2026, and honestly, K-Pop Twitter is not okay.

For over 15 years, ISAC was our holiday tradition. But this Chuseok, the stadium will stay empty.

Why ISAC Chuseok 2026 Is Not Happening

MBC stated that the Chuseok 2026 edition will not be produced due to scheduling difficulties, safety concerns, and lineup coordination issues during the packed fall comeback season. It’s the second time in recent years the holiday edition has been skipped.

This move follows years of fan concerns over idol injuries and tight schedules during the two-day recording marathon.

Known for giving us legendary moments from BTS, TWICE, and SEVENTEEN to newer 5th-gen groups, Idol Star Athletics Championships was more than just sports — it was where rival fandoms united.

MBC hasn’t said if the Lunar New Year 2027 edition will return, but insiders hint the network wants to revamp the format completely before bringing it back.

While it’s sad to miss those iconic slow-motion races, many fans are actually relieved that idols will get a real holiday break for once.
