iQOO unveiled its Neo 9 series smartphones in China during the final week of December 2023, featuring the standard Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro models. Recently, a reliable tipster disclosed the anticipated launch timeline for the Neo 9 series in India. iQOO India has now initiated the teasing phase for the smartphone’s launch, using a new teaser posted on X (previously Twitter).
The Upcoming iQOO Neo 9
The teaser affirms that the Vivo-owned brand is gearing up to introduce the smartphones in India soon. iQOO tantalizingly hints at a “Big Drop” making its way to the Indian market. The teaser further confirms that iQOO plans to debut the dual-tone variant in India. According to an earlier revelation by a tipster on X, iQOO will launch the smartphone in India in February 2024.
This tipster indicates that iQOO intends to introduce the Neo 9 Pro smartphone in India, branding it as the iQOO Neo 9. However, the smartphone is projected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, aligning with the prevalent trend of Qualcomm-powered smartphones in the Indian market. The upcoming Neo 9 is likely to be available for purchase through Amazon India, mirroring the distribution strategy of other smartphones.
In China, iQOO Neo 9 is priced at RMB 2,299 (approximately ₹26,900), while the Neo 9 Pro had a price tag of RMB 2,999 (approximately ₹36,100), both for the 12GB+256GB storage configuration. The expectation is that iQOO will introduce the Neo 9 with a similar configuration in the Indian market, potentially excluding the 512GB and 1TB storage variants. The speculated pricing places the iQOO Neo 9 in the sub-₹35,000 segment, positioning it as a competitor against other mid-range smartphones. Notably, the smartphone is equipped with the Q1 Supercomputing chipset, previously introduced with the iQOO 12 5G.
Ahead of the upcoming launches, iQOO is anticipated to announce discounts on existing models like the iQOO Neo 7 and iQOO Neo 7 Pro. The company is yet to officially confirm the introduction of wearable products, initially unveiled with the Neo 9 series in China. There are expectations that iQOO might unveil the iQOO Watch and iQOO TWS 1e during the forthcoming event in India.
