iQOO is on the brink of unveiling its highly anticipated iQOO Neo 9 series smartphones in China, with the official launch scheduled for December 27. In the lead-up to the event, the brand has been strategically revealing key details about the Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro models.

The latest update comes in the form of a poster from iQOO, shedding light on the camera specifications of the Neo 9 Pro, a device positioned as a performance-centric sub-flagship smartphone that diverges from the conventional triple-camera setup.

The All New iQOO Neo 9 Pro

Unlike traditional configurations featuring main, ultra-wide, and macro/telephoto lenses, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro opts for a dual-camera system. Notably, it incorporates the same primary and ultra-wide sensors found in the camera-centric Vivo X100 flagship, introduced in China in November.

The Neo 9 Pro’s camera specifications reveal a powerful Sony IMX920 50-megapixel primary camera, likely enhanced with optical image stabilization (OIS). In tandem, the device integrates a Samsung JN1 50-megapixel camera sensor dedicated to capturing expansive ultra-wide shots.

According to additional reports, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro is expected to boast a 6.78-inch OLED screen with an impressive 1.5K resolution and a rapid 144Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is the Dimensity 9300 chipset, and it may be available in configurations with 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The device is set to house a substantial 5,160mAh battery with the convenience of 120W fast charging. Operating on OriginOS 4 based on Android 14, the Neo 9 Pro is equipped with a range of features, including an in-screen fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, an IR blaster, and an x-axis linear motor.

As of now, pricing details remain undisclosed, but the Neo 9 Pro is anticipated to be available in three distinct shades: Flighting Black, Nautical Blue, and Red and White Soul. Tech enthusiasts eagerly await the official release to delve further into the Neo 9 Pro’s capabilities and determine its positioning in the competitive smartphone market.
