iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Legend may launch in India soon: Report

The iQOO 8 series is reportedly set to launch in India soon, according to a report. Launched as the successor to the iQOO 7 series, the iQOO 8 lineup consists of two smartphones – iQOO 8 and the iQOO 8 Legend. 91Mobiles earlier reported that iQOO was looking to debut the top-end model, the iQOO 8 Legend, in India soon. The publications now claim that the India launch of the device will be accompanied by its vanilla model – the iQOO 8.

iQOO is expected to start teasing the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Legend in the coming days. Now that only a few days are remaining in this month, the iQOO 8 lineup is likely to break cover in November. The iQOO 8 and 8 Legend may feature the same specs that were made available on their Chinese editions.

iQOO 8 Legend and iQOO 8 details

Starting with the entry-model of the series, the iQOO 8 comes with a 6.56-inch FHD+ (2,376×1,080 pixels) AMOLED display that sports a 120Hz refresh rate, 92.76 screen-to-body ratios, 398 PPI, and 19.8:9 aspect ratio. There is also an in-display fingerprint sensor on the display.

iQOO 8 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset that is paired with Adreno 660 GPU. It comes with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone runs on Android 11 with OriginOS 1.0 on top.

On the other hand, the iQOO 8 Legend has a larger 6.78-inch AMOLED LTPO panel with curved edges. It produces an FHD resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 888 Plus powers the iQOO 8 Legend with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

For selfies, it has a 16-megapixel front camera, and its back panel has a 50-megapixel (Sony IMX766, with gimbal OIS) + 48-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 16-megapixel (telephoto with OIS) triple camera system.
