The second day of the IPL Mega Auction came to an end. England’s Liam Livingstone became the most expensive foreign player in this season’s IPL. Jofra Arfer was sold at a high price despite his doubtful performance. Livingstone went to Punjab Kings as the 10 teams splurged millions but the final day witnessed England white-ball stars including Eoin Morgan and Dawid Malan going unsold.
IPL Mega Auction updates
The Day 2 of the IPL mega auction started with bidding for South African batter Aiden Makram. Finally, SRH bought the right-handed batter for 2.6 crores. Indian batter Mandeep Singh was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 1.1 crore. On day 2, IPL auctioneer Hugh Edmeades returned to the table, On Day 1 Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and Deepak Chahar was among the top picks. Ishan was picked by Mumbai Indians for ₹15.25 crore, while Chahar was sold to Chennai Super Kings for ₹14 crores.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) snapped Iyer for Rs.12.25 crore and Avesh Khan for Rs 10 crore who also became the most expensive uncapped players. Mumbai Indians bought (8.25 cr) and Jofra Archer (8 cr). They bought Tymal Mills and Riley Meredith. SRH bought Romario shepherd for 7.75 crores. Liam Livingstone is the most expensive player of Day 2 of the IPL 2022 Auction, going to Punjab Kings for INR 11.50 cr.
DC bought had bought the first three players on the list, Yash Sull included. Raj Bawa on the other hand went to PBKS for 2 crores. CSK bought Rajvardhan Hangargekar whereas Odean Smith went to Punjab Kings for 6 crores.
