IPL 2022 was an eventful one. Two of the best teams failed to perform, whereas the new entrants had given a top-notch performance. IPL 2023 is set to have an exhilarating trading window where players will have the option of migrating to another franchise.
As per a BCCI official, the mini-auction may take place in December, January or early February. The trade window will open around November or December depending on the auction date. It’s going to be a mini auction as the teams desire to develop squads.
The biggest name in this IPL transfer market can be Ravindra Jadeja. Reports suggest that Jadeja and CSK have not been in touch after IPL 2022. The cricketer deleted all his photos and videos of CSK from his social media accounts and unfollowed the franchise as well. After he had a fall with the franchise, it looks like Jadeja has decided to end all the connections he had with CSK. Jadeja wasn’t even a part of the video of Dhoni’s birthday video that was posted by CSK.
On the other hand, PBKS has approached England’s skipper Eoin Morgan and Trevor Bayliss is the other name. The franchise is also expecting to transform its head coach Anil Kumble.
Cricketers who are expected to be traded in IPL 2023
- Ravindra Jadeja (CSK)
- Tymal Mills (MI)
- Adam Milne (CSK)
- Manish Pandey (LSG)
- Vijay Shankar (GT)
- Shahrukh Khan (PBKS)
The IPL trading window will allow only three players to be traded to other franchises. All the teams have the freedom to retain up to 9 players. Before this event, the IPL Governing Council will meet BCCI AGM and discuss the auctions and other dates. The Board will also introduce RTM (Right To Match) during the auction. IPL 2023 is going to have home and away from the home format as the ICC has granted BCCI a 75-day window from the next edition of the tournament.
