Mumbai Indians get Jason Behendroff back after three years in IPL 2023’s first trade transfer from Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was unutilized by RCB since Josh Hazlewood got the main place.
Earlier, in 2018 and 2019 when MI won the title, Behendroff was part of the squad.
He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022 Auction with a base price of Rs. 75 lakhs. He has also represented Chennai Super Kings in 2021, altogether he played 9 T20Is and scalped 7 wickets and his best bowling performance was 4/21. For Mumbai Indians, he has played 5 matches.
Due to Jofra Archer’s unavailability and Jasprit Bumrah’s injury, the franchise lacked a good pacer. Apart from Bumrah, the other Indian pacers couldn’t show their standard performance in IPL 2022. Quinton De Kock and Trent Boult other two successful trade-ins.
Mumbai Indians released Kieron Pollard for IPL 2023. He has been serving the team since IPL 2010. Reports suggest that the franchise will also let go of Fabian Allen and Tymal Millis.
In nine T20I matches for Australia, Behrendorff picked up 7 wickets, with a high of 4 for 21. He has taken 117 wickets overall in 105 T20s for an economy rate of 7.41.
