A possible MS Dhoni farewell match at Chepauk
- If Chennai Super Kings (CSK) don’t qualify for the playoffs, Dhoni could play his last game for CSK at home on May 14 against Kolkata Knight Riders.
- However, if CSK qualify, Dhoni will be seen in action during Qualifier 1 or the Eliminator at Chepauk.
- And if CSK make it to the final, a record crowd at Narendra Modi Stadium will witness Dhoni’s magic one last time.
IPL 2023 returns to home-and-away format
- After a hiatus of three years, IPL 2023 marks the return of the home-and-away format for league matches.
- The 2020 season was moved to the UAE due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the 2021 season faced interruptions and a shift back to the UAE.
- In 2022, the league phase was played at venues in Mumbai and Pune, with playoffs and the final in Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
