IPL 2022 is all set to start from March 22 and BCCI has allowed spectators in the stadium. However, this decision can be cancelled at any point in time by the Maharashtra Government in the next 7 days if there is a Covid 19 threat in the state. This development can prove to be an expensive thing for IPL 2022.

As per reports, Maharashtra reported 171 new Covid-19 cases and three deaths on Friday. According to the state health department, 394 people recovered from the disease on Friday while the active number of cases stood at 1,680.

The infection tally in the state increased 78,72,203. The death toll in Maharashtra is 1,43,765.

The 2020 season of IPL was entirely held in the UAE after it got postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 2021 IPL season was held in India but then it was shifted to the UAE due to the second wave in May. IPL 2022 will be held in Maharashtra though the venue for playoffs hasn’t been announced yet.
