For an IPL franchise to win a match, it’s very important for batters to have a good partnership in the middle order to post a good total. There have been many instances where top-order batters didn’t perform well but mid-order batters changed the destiny of the match.
Here’s a list of the highest partnerships by the wicket:
1. Quinton de Kock – KL Rahul
Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul added an unbeaten 210 against KKR in IPL 2022. De Kock smashed an unbeaten 140 off just 70 deliveries while KL Rahul was seen scoring 68 runs off just 51 deliveries.
2. Jonny Bairstow – David Warner
Jonny Bairstow and David Warner scored 185 runs against RCB in IPL 2019. Both of them scored centuries that helped the team win the match by a big margin of 118 runs. Bairstow scored 114 runs off 56 balls, while Warner made 100 runs in 55 balls.
3. Virat Kohli- AB de Villiers
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers mustered 229 runs in IPL 2016. The duo smashed centuries in the game and RCB won the game by 144 runs in the end.
4. Cameron White – Kumar Sangakkara
Cameron White and Kumar Sangakkara together mustered 157 runs together in a match in 2012. Deccan Chargers posted 186/4 with the help of their partnership, in their first innings, and won the match by 13 runs against the Pune team.
5. Shimron Hetmyer – Gurkeerat Singh Man
Shimron Hetmyer and Gurkeerat Singh Maan shared 144 run partnership for the fourth wicket to help RCB chase the target of 176 runs. Hetmyer scored 75 runs off 47 balls with 4 fours and 6 sixes.
6. Shakib-Al-Hassan – Yusuf Pathan
Shakib Al Hasan and Yusuf Pathan together mustered a 134-run partnership for the fifth wicket taking the KKR’s score to 158/4 in 20 overs. This wasn’t enough for the team as KKR lost the match by 5 wickets and 12 balls in hand.
7. Ambati Rayudu – Kieron Pollard
MI’s played against RCB where MI lost the first 5 wickets for 51 runs in a 172 target but the duo smashed 122 runs which ensures the win for the team.
8. Jagadeesha Suchith –Â Harbhajan Singh
Jagadeesha Suchith and Harbhajan Singh smacked 100 runs against Punjab in IPL 2019. Harbhajan scored a half-century in 19 balls but still, the franchise failed to win the match.
