The media rights fir Indian Premier League (IPL) will be released soon, most probably by the next week. As per the previous announcement, the tender was released five months ago in October 2022. As per reports there was a delay due to the host broadcaster Star, but Star’s tenure will end after IPL 2022.
However, BCCI has rubbished off such assumptions. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)has hired a professional agency, KPMG to see the process of selling the rights. IPL is the most popular T20 competition in the world and many well reputed brands iall around the world compete to bag the media rights.
The two new times of IPL Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans will play for the first time in IPL. IPL 2022 will be a ten team affair and there will be an increase in the number of games. The price is expected to be doubled from the last season which was INR 16,347 crore. It’s expected that the value will reach great heights.

We are expecting a very high price. It would be unfair to point out a figure. The tender will involve multiple parties and we are hoping very high interest from the parties,” – Quation given by a BCCI official.
The cricket fans are eager for March 26 as the mega tournament will begin on the day. Several teams have gone under major reconstruction and it would be very captivating for the viewers to see how everything turns out. A lot of expectations are set on the two new teams of the IPL, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants as both the teams look very promising.
