IPL 2022: Everything you need to know about Prize money and other awards

IPL 2022 has come to an end almost. The last match is yet to be played between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals which will decide the winner of this season. The franchise that’ll win the match will get a huge cash prize of Rs 20 Cr on Sunday. As per reports, BCCI will increase the cash prize from IPL 2023.

Here’s what a BCCI official told in a statement :

“That (increasing prize money) is currently under discussion. The prize money should be increased by 20-25% from next year. But the amount is not yet final. There should be a decision next year before the tournament,”

The year 2016, saw the last hike in prize money. The Board has gotten richer by Rs 12,175 Cr since Ahmedabad and Lucknow franchises got sold but the prize money is unchanged. BCCI has also received a sponsorship deal of above Rs. 1,000 Crore this year.
