CVC Capital owned Ahmedabad franchise finally got the “Letter of Intent from BCCI. CVC Capital paid Rs. 5,635 crores to win the bid for the Ahmedabad franchise.

Earlier, the Ahmedabad franchise was put on hold by BCCI due to their alleged drinks with the betting companies. The independent committee formed by BCCI had cleared the firm of the links in December 2021. On Monday the company was promised the Letter Of Intent which they will receive after the IPL Governing Council meeting on Tuesday.

BCCI’s independent committee gave a green signal to CVC Capital and then they asked to sign a brand new contract with the Indian board. The franchise had arrived in Mumbai to sign the IPL contract.

The Ahmedabad franchise has already begun to pick out their draft players. Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Rashid Khan are on the list. Ishan Kishan has also been approached!

Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchises can spend Rs 33 crore on the three draft picks. The Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is currently recovering from a back injury. Rashid Khan got released from Sunrisers Hyderabad and is all set to be part of a new squad. Krunal Pandya has also been one of the top picks of the franchise.

Hardik Pandya has been a part of Mumbai Indians since 2015 but due to his poor form and fitness, he got released by the franchise. Krunal Pandya, his brother, made his IPL debut in 2016 and was a part of the team in the winning year.

The Mega Auction is supposed to be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13 but due to the rapid rise in Covid-19 cases in India, the dates may be pushed in the future as well. BCCI is considering to conduct the Auction and League in India but due to the current situation, BCCI is considering to explore every option.
