IPL 2021 has been hit by another shock as the match between Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bangalore is set to be postponed as two KKR players are reportedly tested positive.

As per the reports, KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier are tested positive, and multiple members of the squad were falling ill. Several members of the KKR setup, including Australian pacer Pat Cummins, are unwell. All the players are isolating themselves. However, keeping them aside, no other player has tested positive thus far.

In this situation, it is not possible to conduct a match between KKR and RCB for safety measures. A BCCI official confirmed, “Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive, and that made the RCB camp wary of the situation. The game is set to be postponed.” As per the sources, the BCCI office has communicated with the local organizers at Ahmedabad (Monday’s game’s venue), and Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) has been told that the game will be rescheduled and the revised date will be informed on Monday afternoon.

It is a massive setback for the IPL organizers. Some question also arises among the fans and others that how these players are effected by the virus being in a bio-bubble.

However, the organizers assured the players that they are safe and the tournament will go ahead as scheduled.
