IPL 2021 Auction: Delhi Capitals purchase Steve Smith for INR 2.20 crores

It has just been 2 months since the IPL 2020 final on 10th November where Mumbai Indians clinched their 5th IPL title, and here we are already talking about the 14th edition of IPL.

The IPL 2021 will be as per regular schedule, i.e. it will start in March-April like all the previous years. Before the commencement of the tournament, they will be having a mini-auction for the 8 franchises.

The IPL 2021 Player Auction is now underway in Chennai from 3 pm IST.

Australian batsmen, Steve Smith who was the captain of Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020 was in the auction for a base price of INR 2 crores.

RCB had an opening bid, but Delhi Capitals have entered the bidding and he is SOLD to @DelhiCapitals for 2.2Cr INR #IPLAuction

Royal Challengers Bangalore opened the bidding with INR 2 crores but finally Delhi Capitals won the bidding with a bid of INR 2.20 crores.

So, Steve Smith will now play for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021.
