IPL 2021 Auction: Chris Morris sold for a whopping INR 16.25 crores to Rajasthan Royals

It has just been 2 months since the IPL 2020 final on 10th November where Mumbai Indians clinched their 5th IPL title, and here we are already talking about the 14th edition of IPL.

The IPL 2021 will be as per regular schedule, i.e. it will start in March-April like all the previous years. Before the commencement of the tournament, they will be having a mini-auction for the 8 franchises.

South African all-rounder Chris Morris started a bidding war between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore initially. He has a very low base price of INR 75 lakhs.

Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings entered the bidding very late when the price was already around INR 13 crores.

Finally, he was sold for a whopping INR 16.25 crores to Rajasthan Royals. He will now play under Sanju Samson in IPL 2021.
