IPL 2020 has been scheduled to take place in UAE from 19th September with the final being held on 10th November. BCCI decided to move this year’s IPL outside of India due to the Coronavirus pandemic. India is the third-highest most affected country in the world.

Rajasthan Royals said in a statement: “Rajasthan Royals would like to inform that their fielding coach Dishant Yagnik has tested positive for COVID-19. The test was undertaken keeping in mind that the team members need to assemble in Mumbai next week for their flight to the UAE.”

“The franchise implemented an extra test for all players, support staff and management travelling to the UAE in addition to the two tests recommended by BCCI, to ensure as robust a process as possible.”

Yagnik will be in home-quarantine in his hometown Udaipur for the next 14 days. Fortunately, no other player or staff has been affected by him.

All the IPL franchises have instructed their players to self-quarantine themselves and monitor their body temperatures on a daily basis. BCCI has instructed all players to enter their body temperatures on the centralised app provided by the BCCI.

One of the IPL franchise said: “The entire team, support staff who will be entering IPL 2020 bio-bubble has been asked to monitor their temperatures and enter the same in the centralize app provided by the IPL management.”

The players will be monitored strictly before they are allowed to enter the IPL 2020 bio-bubble in UAE.
