iPhone SE 4 to launch with OLED Panel: supplied from China’s BOE

New reports from industry sources indicate that BOE will probably be in charge of the production of iPhone SE 4 displays. Most of the 6.1-inch OLED screens for the next iPhone SE 4—if not all of them—will come from the business.

As per the reports, Apple’s low cost for each panel caused Samsung to withdraw from the competition. After much negotiation, BOE and Apple were able to come to an arrangement, with BOE providing the majority of the displays.

ZDNet Korea reports that BOE has won the contract to make OLED screens for the rumored SE 4, citing sources. After Samsung withdrew from the bidding process on profitability concerns, BOE is anticipated to supply the majority of OLED panels for the SE 4.

Samsung Display planned to charge $30 (about Rs 2,500) per panel for the iPhone SE 4, while Chinese businesses suggested charging between $35 and $40 (around Rs 2,900 and Rs 3,300) each screen.

But according to reports, the US tech giant demanded an even lower cost per panel—$25, or roughly Rs 2,000. The iPhone SE 4 is reportedly going to have Face ID functionality and a design akin to the iPhone 14.

According to the source, it is anticipated that the iPhone SE 4 will ship in around 15 million units. It is noteworthy that Apple has not yet provided any information regarding the situation.

Reported specifications for the iPhone SE 4 include a 48MP primary camera and a 6.1-inch OLED display.

An estimated 147.7 x 71.5 x 7.7 mm is the device’s size. It is also possible that the phone will have an Action Button and a USB-C port. Its battery capacity is expected to be the same as the iOS 14 model.
