Apple decided to forgo releasing a new iPhone SE model this year, but speculation is rife that the ‘iPhone SE 4’ may make its debut in 2024. Persistent rumors surrounding the device have recently shifted focus to its battery details, with indications that Apple may draw inspiration from the iPhone 14 for the iPhone SE 4.

iPhone SE 4 Battery Leaks

Leaks pertaining to the iPhone SE 4’s battery details suggest that it will likely share the same battery as the iPhone 14, as uncovered by MacRumors. During the testing phase of iPhone SE 4 prototypes, partially assembled models have been found to feature lithium-ion batteries with the model number A2863 – identical to the model number associated with the iPhone 14’s battery.

If these rumors prove accurate, the iPhone SE 4 could bring a substantial battery upgrade compared to its predecessors. The iPhone 14 boasts a 3,279mAh battery, a significant improvement over the 2,018mAh battery found in the iPhone SE 3. However, it’s worth noting that these details are based on prototype models, and the final iPhone SE 4 unit might feature a different battery.

As for the design, the iPhone SE 4 appears to be following the trend set by its predecessors, aligning closely with the iPhone 14. Anticipated changes include a modernized look with flat edges and a larger screen size, echoing the dimensions of the iPhone 14. The inclusion of a Touch ID button on the iPhone SE 4 is a point of contention, with conflicting rumors. While some sources suggest its return, a recent report suggests that Apple’s Touch ID division has been permanently closed, hinting at the potential adoption of Face ID for biometric authentication.

Excitingly, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature significant upgrades, including the incorporation of an Action button and a USB Type-C port – innovations that made their debut with the iPhone 15 series. These reports collectively suggest that Apple has ambitious plans for the iPhone SE 4, promising a noteworthy package of enhancements. As eager anticipation builds, enthusiasts will have to patiently wait for the expected launch, slated for the upcoming year.
