Despite the expected release of the iPhone 16 series during the second half of this year, rumors about the new Apple iPhone are circulating. Various sources mention a possible iPhone 17 release with a new look, an upgraded front camera, and a smaller Dynamic Island. Recent reports mention the development of a “Slim” alternative to the Plus model in the Apple store. Based on the images registered, the iPhone 17 Pro series will be equipped with Apple’s A19 Pro chip.

More About the iPhone 17 Series

In a recent 9to5Mac update of Haitong International Tech Research, Jeff Pu reports to readers and others watching that the iPhone 17 series is poised to succeed the iPhone 16 with four new models – iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone Slim model is speculated to adopt a sleeker design, potentially replacing the “Plus” model.

According to the report, the vanilla iPhone 17 could have a 6.1-inch display, the iPhone 17 Slim could have a 6.6-inch screen, and the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max could have 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens, respectively. It additionally claimed that the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim, and iPhone 17 Pro will all be made of aluminum and will have a “more complicated” design.

In contrast, the iPhone 17 Pro Max may have a titanium build and a smaller Dynamic Island. Apple is said to be able to integrate “metalens” technology for the proximity sensor in the high-end model, using that to reduce the Face ID sensor’s size.

As for performance, the A18 or A19 chip with 8GB of RAM might be installed on the regular iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Slim, while the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max could be equipped with the A19 Pro chip and 12GB of RAM. This assumption is based on the assumption for RAM used for the latest current iPhone models.

Pu also states that most forecasts suggest that all four iPhone 17 models would use 24-megapixel frontal cameras, which is also twice the capacity of current iPhone 15 frontal cameras. Given such trends and the regularity of new Apple models, the iPhone 17 series is expected to be released in September 2025.
