This would mean the iPhone 17 Air would be about 30% thinner than the 7.8mm iPhone 16 and around 33% thinner than the 8.25mm iPhone 16 Pro models.
In terms of size, the iPhone 17 Air will be very close in dimensions to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro that was introduced last year at a thickness of 5.1mm. Apple is banking on the super-slim build to better resonate with consumers than previous mini and Plus iPhone models, which haven’t sold as well as the standard and Pro counterparts.
