Since the launching of the iPhone 12 series in 2020, iPhones have been 5G compatible. Apple has been continuously increasing the iPhone’s 5G performance since then. The iPhone 15 Pro’s 5G modem chip is now said to be up to 24% faster than the previous model.

SpeedSmart, an internet speed measurement programme, provided this report. SpeedSmart examined the 5G communication speeds of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max on major American carriers AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. According to the survey, the 15 Pro had higher 5G communication speeds on all three carriers, with download speeds notably improving.

Verizon’s network improved the most, with the iPhone 14 Pro hitting an average download speed of 195.83Mbps and the iPhone 15 Pro reaching an average of 243.06Mbps. This is a 24% increase in download speed.

On T-Mobile, the iPhone 15 Pro improved by 22%, with the fastest average 5G download rates of 300.92Mbps. And download speeds on AT&T are 14.6% quicker, averaging 204.34Mbps. However, upload speeds remained stable across all three major carriers.

According to SpeedSmart, the better 5G performance is due to an upgraded modem in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max variants. Although Apple has not officially confirmed the modem in these devices, SpeedSmart believes the Pro versions use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X70 modem, which provides three major benefits: which are Significantly reduced energy consumption, Improved carrier aggregation capability for 5G and when the iPhone is farther away from a cell tower, it has better connectivity.

With these advantages, SpeedSmart’s testing reveal that the 15 Pro and Pro Max provide up to 24% quicker 5G speeds than the iPhone 14 Pro series.
