According to rumors, the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro will have a more subdued color scheme, and prototype devices show those colors. Despite being less than a week away from Apple’s official unveiling of the iPhone 15 series, the rumor mill continues to churn. At the end of August, fresh color-related rumors surfaced, and AppleInsider managed to acquire prototype models that provide a better representation of these colors than any previous renderings.
iPhone 15 Color Options
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to come in five alleged colors: white, black, blue, yellow, and pink/red. These new colors are notably pastel in appearance, aligning with the earlier rumors and leaked images.
The black and white variants maintain the traditional look seen in previous generations, featuring a glossy, single-color rear panel and matte sides. The white model boasts pure silver accents, while the black version appears entirely black, rather than leaning towards a dark gray hue.
The blue, yellow, and pink choices on the iPhone 15 units distinguish themselves from the more subdued Pro models. All these fresh hues are more muted compared to previous color options, a decision that is likely to generate mixed opinions among users. Apple presently offers a yellow iPhone 14, but the new yellow is even paler than its predecessor. The pink color deviates significantly from the vibrant versions seen in the past.
Additionally, the prototype units show some of the rumored features, such as the presence of a USB-C port, slight design modifications, and the inclusion of Dynamic Island on the front of the phones. These prototypes are equipped with SIM card trays, although they may not be included in the US models. Apple has retained them for certain international models but has shifted to eSIM technology in other cases.
iPhone 15 Pro Color Options
The dummy models of the iPhone 15 Pro showcase four colors that have recently been the subject of rumors: silver, Space Black, Carbide Gray, and blue. The various gray-toned titanium colors do not show significant differences. Apple’s actual models are likely to offer more distinct choices for customers.
The blue variant stands out in particular, and Apple is expected to use a catchy marketing name for this shade. The prototype appears to feature a darker version of the Pacific Blue used in the iPhone 13 Pro. Moreover, the prototype models for the Pro version also showcase several rumored features, including the updated design, the replacement of the mute toggle with an Action Button, and the inclusion of a Type-C Thunderbolt port.
