After the launch of the iPhone 12 series, every day we are getting to know some of its pros and cons. Now another report has come out that the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max are going to have a new feature called “People Detection”. By this feature, the device will allow visually challenged users to detect the proximity of other people. This new feature will be available in a new iOS 14.2 beta release.

To execute this feature, the device uses the LiDAR sensor and wide-angle camera to precisely detect the distance between the users and their nearby people. This is a kinda must-have feature for visually challenged people. This feature works with a combination of augmented reality (AR) and machine learning. That’s why at first the device will sense & detect the obstacle and then it will give a signal to the control system to measure the distance. If the distance is much less, then the user will get a signal from the device by which he/she can make his/her path carefully. Moreover, this feature will also be very useful in current scenarios where everyone has to maintain at least 6 feet of distance from each other for the COVID-19 crisis.

Apple has been working on this technology since September and finally in the update of iOS 14.2, the company will provide this facility to the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max users. Beta users will get the first opportunity to use this feature. This is a great leap in terms of technological advancement from Apple. Yes, it is true that to buy an iPhone 12 Pro or the iPhone 12 Pro Max, you have to spend a lot amount of money. But in terms of the byproduct of that process, you will get some serious great technological help from Apple, whether it is the chipset or such kind of proximity detection features. In terms of that, Apple has never failed to amaze us.

As of now, this amazing facility will only be available in the iPhone 12 Pro and the Pro Max variants. The company will not provide this service on the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Mini. So, you have to pay some price to get this facility.
