Andre Onana is on the list of Inter Milan next summer. The player only has one year remaining on his contract with Ajax, and will be available for a free transfer in 2022. The interest from the Serie A champions has been confirmed by their CEO, Beppe Marotta.

“We know that the Sporting Director  Ausilio is active with his colleagues in monitoring the possibilities that the market offers,” Marotta said. “Beyond that there is nothing to report, it is the routine of the sports management. Interesting goalkeeper, but we have a great goalkeeper, we hold onto him.”

Inter are working to sign Ajax gk André Onana as free agent next summer. CEO Giuseppe Marotta confirms: “Onana is an interesting goalkeeper, for sure. We’re monitoring some opportunities”, he said to DAZN. 🔵🇨🇲 #Onana #Inter

Inter are searching for a replacement for Samir Handanovic, currently 37. Handanovic has been very reliable between the sticks for Inter Milan over the last several years, and Onana is the man that Inter want at the club to be the long-term heir to the current first choice keeper. While the CEO confirmed that they are interested in the goalkeeper, he made no comments regarding the status of the deal or about any developments.

Onana was a part of the Ajax team that made it to the semi finals of the Champions League in 2018/19, and has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Lyon and Barcelona in the past. Ajax could also try to renew his contract, and being respectful to the club, he could try negotiating with them again. But it is likely that the player from Cameroon will leave on a free transfer in June 2022.
