According to Benchlife, Intel will be announcing its next and potentially final consumer desktop processor during Arrow Lake-S “Core Ultra 200” on October 10th. It brings a new architecture, and socket and is essentially an evolution of Intel’s desktop lineup. The report does not reveal whether that is the date when it will be announced, or available in stores, but typically an initial unveiling event (or marketing blast out to colleagues and press) a few weeks before retail opens.

The All New Intel Arrow Lake-S ‘Core Ultra 200’ CPUs

The new chips, codenamed Arrow Lake-S CPUs will feature the Core Ultra 200 branding and for now, be launched in “K” versions that include both an unlocked CPU microcode as well is supported by three models:  Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K, and Core Ultra 5 245K. These processors will be paired with Z890 series motherboards featuring the new LGA 1851 socket.

Intel’s Arrow Lake-S CPUs will utilize the new Lion Cove P-Core and Skymont E-Core architecture, consisting of up to four tiles: Compute Tile, SOC Tile, IO Tile, and Graphics Tile. The graphics will be powered by the new Alchemist Xe-LPG architecture. The Arrow Lake-S “Core Ultra 200” series will cover up to 24 cores and threads in terms of performance but does not support hyper-threading. The chips will pack in 33MB of L3 cache and bigger L2 caches. The top model, the Core Ultra 9 285K any time is a specific case to run at up to 5.7 GHz.

Still limited to 125W PL1 and 253W PL2, this silicon laterally comes with a potential power saving of up to 100WW over the current Raptor Lake CPUs. Reports also claim that the Arrow Lake-S CPUs will not suffer from the instability of some 13th and 14th Gen chips. As the release date approaches, more details about the Arrow Lake-S “Core Ultra 200” CPUs are expected, with further insights potentially provided around the Lunar Lake launch on September 3.
