Intel’s Alder Lake-S desktop and Alder Lake-P mobile vPRO will come out in Q1 2022

Intel’s pathway for release in the first quarter of 2022 has been leaked online by an anonymous source and we get quite some juicy details about the team blues roadmap. The roadmap not only shows the release of Tiger Lake and Rocket Lake but also has the release for both hybrid Alder Lake-S desktop and Alder Lake-P mobile vPRO CPUs.

As we know the two-hybrid Alder Lake V PRO versions, are not targeted towards normal consumers or gamers, but for businesses. They offer validity, management from a remote setting and also provide higher levels of security for up to fifteen months until the launch of the following series.

The specifications are as follows, the Alder Lake-S desktop model comes with 16 cores (8+8 cores) with 24 threads which are the same as i9-12900K. In the Alder Lake-P mobile model, on the other hand, we get fourteen cores but they are split by 6+8 which in turn offers a higher user efficiency and productivity during workloads.

When it comes to I/O, the Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake CPU lineup will feature both PCIe Gen 5 & PCIe Gen 4 support, Intel WiFi 6E (Gig+), and Thunderbolt 4 support. For memory, Alder Lake CPUs will come with a wide array of options ranging from DDR5/DDR4 for the desktop platform and LPDDR5 / LPDDR4 for the mobility platform. The Alder Lake Desktop platform is also expected to adopt the ATX12VO power connector standard.

The leak also mentions that the vPRO models which will be released by Intel will be Windows 10 supported, especially through 2022. However, it is still unknown whether support for Windows 11 will be maintained once Windows 10 is replaced. However, the possibility of these we will find once Microsoft releases its new Windows 11 OS.
