Intel to showcase Tiger Lake-H and Rocket Lake processors on March 18th

The Blue team is finally launching the new Rocket Lake-S desktop CPUs as well as the upper-tier Tiger Lake-H processors on March 18th i.e. the day after tomorrow. After a serious run of AMD processors, Intel needs something to showcase as it had been the performance leader on the CPU front for quite some time.

However, the repeated use of their 14nm node has plunged them and it is getting harder for Intel to bounce back. Although they are still getting huge amounts of revenue from a variety of businesses but once you lose the performance crown it becomes hard to convince your existence when your main product’s dominance is lost.

We know that the actual Game Developer Conference (GDC) will be taking place in July, there’s the GDC Showcase virtual conference coming up which seems to be a perfect scenario for Intel to showcase its upcoming processors.

Intel Core i7-11375H specs leaked online

As we saw recently, Intel Core i9-11900K will regain the single-core performance dominance but fall behind in terms of both efficiencies as well as multi-core performance. Intel’s Marcus Kennedy (GM Gaming and Esports Client Computing Group / Desktop Workstation Gaming) is supposed to present the 11th Gen Core series at GDC Showcase.

So, on March 18th you can expect Intel to show the 11th Gen Core desktop series, which is now scheduled to launch on March 30th. Also they will be announcing the 8-core Tiger Lake-H mobile CPUs (commonly referred to as H45), which have been leaked previously already.

Intel Core i7-11700K is openly sold and benchmarked ahead of launch

Intel’s partner session will be held on March 18th from 2:40 PM to 3:10 PM, however, the page does not clarify which timezone. The short snippet from the GDC website reveals that we should expect a ‘first look’ at Tiger Lake-H and Rocket Lake series:

Gaming is Shaping the World (Presented by Intel Corporation)

Known to industry insiders but not well known to the outside world, Intel works closely with game developers to ensure we deliver the best gaming platforms. One of the ways we do this is by creating tools to help developers deliver amazing experiences for gamers. This enablement effort has improved the lives of gamers through advancements in in-game performance, graphic fidelity, AI, and much more. In launching the 11th generation of Core processors Intel brings a brand new architecture improving the performance of both notebook and desktops. Intel offers a first look at the new Tiger Lake H-series notebook and Rocket Lake desktop processors while sharing stories and demos from their software vendor collaborations.
