This year has been a fantastic year for the tech giant intel. The leading semiconductor manufacturer started with a bang by introducing its 11th generation Tiger Lake processors in the market and launching its new Intel Evo platform. With the establishment of its new Fab 42, Intel is pushing the boundaries of its wafers. But its latest 11th gen family also has updated use case support for AI and IoT operations. AI is considered the future of technology.
The company on Monday announced that it has partnered with IIIT Hyderabad, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), and Telangana government to set-up ‘Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Centre’. The new research centre will focus on leveraging AI to solve the challenges in sectors such as smart mobility and mos, notably in Healthcare.
The research centre will be collaborating with academia and the government to impact applied research and create population-scale data sets. The tech company aims to make advancements in AI and develop technology through IP generation and also foster entrepreneurship in the country.
AI research centre will act as a catalyst in boosting India’s growth in AI by driving innovation and entrepreneurship.
This will create national assets including the data sets, computer infrastructure, and frameworks.
Intel Corporation Country Head, Intel India and Vice President, Data Platforms Group, Nivruti Rai said that “As India continues its transformation, adoption of technology-led innovations becomes important to solve the country’s societal challenges in the critical areas of healthcare, smart mobility and the future of work”.
She also added that “The need of the hour is for industry, government, academia, and the public to work together to support the development of technology with thoughtful consideration of its application ethically and inclusively”.
The centre will combine the academic expertise of IIIT-H and the technology of Intel along with the public knowledge of PHFI. This new centre is crucial for the advancement of Indian tech in the field of artificial intelligence. Not to mention, this will create even more job opportunities in the field of technology for aspiring Indians.
