Intel released the latest Game On Driver for the company’s Arc Graphics on the day of launch to optimise games so that they look great and perform well with its graphics cards. This update includes support for five new games that the company describes as “the most anticipated games of 2023,” as well as 11th through 13th Gen Core processors, Iris Xe Dedicated Graphics, and Arc Graphics.
The newest update, version 31.0.101.4125, was released, with users finding support in several titles, such as:
- Atomic Heart
- Company of Heroes 3
- Like a Dragon: Ishin!
- Wild Hearts
- The Settlers: New Allies
Intel has released benchmarks for the latest Game On driver update, which cover two games released since the last Game On driver update, The Settlers: New Allies and Returnal.
Intel wants the users to see the difference in performance and performance per dollar and then choose it over the competition.
They show both systems’ PC configurations, with the Intel Arc A750 GPU versus the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB GPU. The ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 Hero is used in the systems, along with the Corsair DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 DRAM and the Corsair MP600 Pro XT 4 TB NVMe.
The above slide depicts the performance of the Intel Arc A750 Game On Driver with the aforementioned games.
They tested the graphics card at 1080p and 1440p resolutions and compared it to NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GPU. In Returnal, the Intel Arc A750 GPU outperformed the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB graphics card by three frames per second in 1080p benchmarks and four frames per second in 1440p benchmarks.
The results were even better in The Settlers: New Allies, where the Intel Arc A750 outperformed the NVIDIA GPU by ten frames per second on average, and by 16 frames per second over NVIDIA’s RTX 3060 12GB graphics card. The improvement between the two tests ranged from four to fourteen percent.
The above slides compares normalised performance per dollar to the exact NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GPU, with Intel showing an overall 62% to 75% increase between the two titles.
The company mentions in the fine print that the NVIDIA GPU costs $383 compared to Intel’s GPU, which costs $249 — a $134 difference in favour of the Intel Arc A750 performance.
