Intel Core Ultra-H Laptop Processors: Unveiling the Powerhouse for 2024

Intel‘s latest Core Ultra-H laptop processors are poised to redefine the laptop computing experience, offering a remarkable combination of power and efficiency. Here’s a breakdown of the key models and their specifications:

All About the Intel Core Ultra-H Processors

The flagship model, the Ultra 9 185H, boasts an impressive 16 cores and 22 threads, achieving a turbo clock speed of up to 5.1 GHz. However, leaked information from the Geekbench website suggests that the performance, while substantial, falls slightly behind high-end AMD and Intel processors in both single-core and multi-core scores.

In addition to the Ultra 9 185H, Intel introduces the Ultra 5 135H, featuring 14 cores and 18 threads with an expected boost clock of approximately 4.4 GHz. These leaks have helped complete the specifications sheet, providing details on the base and boost clock speeds, as well as core specifications for the Ultra-H series.

The naming convention of the Ultra 7 series has been updated, with the Core Ultra 7 1002H now officially identified as the Core Ultra 7 165H. Despite the confusing nomenclature shift, the Ultra 7 165H stands out as a powerful 16-core, 22-thread CPU with a base clock of 3.8 GHz and a boost clock of 5.0 GHz. Preliminary performance comparisons suggest it may outpace even the Core i9-13900H.

While rumors hint at a full presentation of all Meteor Lake CPUs this year, the Core Ultra 9 185H might not be available until the following year. Laptop makers are expected to integrate this premium part into their new products, potentially unveiling them at CES 2024.

The entry-level Ultra 5 135H has made its Geekbench debut, showcasing single-core scores of 1,120 to 1,144 and multi-core scores of 9,502 to 9,587. With a base clock of 3.6 GHz and a boost of up to 4.4 GHz, this 14-core, 18-thread processor is a noteworthy addition to the Meteor Lake lineup.

The Ultra 5 125H, another member of the Ultra 5 series, is a mobile processor with 14 cores, Hyper-Threading technology, and a TDP of 28W. With a default clock of 3.3 GHz and a boost up to 4.5 GHz, it supports DDR5 memory, PCI-Express Gen 5, and includes Intel’s Xe Graphics LPG 128EU integrated graphics solution. While the multiplier is locked, the processor’s hardware virtualization capabilities and support for AVX and AVX2 standards contribute to improved performance for various applications.
