Gunnir has introduced the Arc A380 Photon 6GB OC, one of the first custom graphics cards based on Intel’s Arc Alchemist series (opens in new tab). The Arc A380, on the other hand, has a tough road ahead of it, as Intel’s solution will have to compete with the best graphics cards on the market.

The Arc A380 is Intel’s entry-level graphics card, based on the Xe-HPG architecture and powered by the ACM-G11 silicon. The ACM-G11 is made for Intel on TSMC’s 6nm manufacturing node. The Arc A380 has eight Xe cores, eight ray tracing units, and 4MB of L2 cache. Because each Xe core can hold up to 128 ALUs, the Arc A380 has 1,024 ALUs.

The Arc A380 Photon 6GB OC has a boost clock of 2,450 MHz. The Arc A380’s reference boost clock speed may be lower because the product name implies that it comes with a factory overclock. In any case, the Arc A380 Photon 6GB OC has an FP32 performance of up to 5 TFLOPs. That would put the graphics card on par with the GeForce GTX 1660 from Nvidia, which also offers 5 TFLOPs of FP32 performance.

A total of 6GB of GDDR6 RAM is available on the graphics card. The memory chips run at 15.5 Gbps and contain a 96-bit memory interface. As a result, the Arc A380 can give a memory bandwidth of up to 186 Gbps. As a result, versions like the GeForce GTX 1650 Super and GeForce GTX 1660 only enhance memory bandwidth by 3.3 percent over the Arc A380.

The Arc A380 Photon 6GB OC is rectangular and occupies two PCI slots

The graphics card is 222mm long and has a dual-tone design with black and grey tones with blue accents. For increased rigidity, it comes with a matching backplate. Underneath the cooler is a huge aluminum heatsink with a single 6nm nickel-plated copper heat pipe that distributes heat throughout the heatsink. A pair of 90mm cooling fans are in charge of active cooling.

In the Arc A380 Photon 6GB OC, Gunnir has integrated a 2+1-phase power distribution scheme. TBP (total board power) for the graphics card is 92W. As a result, Gunnir has included an 8-pin PCIe power port on the side of the shroud, identical to Nvidia’s Founders Edition models. The Arc A380 Photon 6GB OC’s display outputs include three DisplayPort outputs and one HDMI 2.0 connection.

In China, Intel appears to have already sold the A3 series graphics cards for desktops, forcing manufacturers such as Gunnir to disclose their modified versions. For the Arc A380 Photon 6GB OC, Gunnir was unable to provide a price.

On the other hand, Chinese shops have started to add the Arc A380 to their prebuilt gaming computers. At the very least, the other Arc SKUs should be available in China soon. Gunnir has already previewed the “future flagship,” which features a triple-fan cooler, on its website.
