Indri Makes History Again: India’s Single Malt Crowned World’s Fastest Growing for Second Consecutive Year

In an extraordinary feat that’s redefining India’s position on the global whisky stage, Indri single malt has once again emerged as the world’s fastest-growing single malt whisky brand. The Haryana-based distillery has shattered records by selling 2.04 million bottles in 2024, cementing its position as not just India’s largest-selling single malt, but a global powerhouse.

This isn’t just another success story – it’s a testament to how Indian craftsmanship is conquering the most discerning palates worldwide, one dram at a time.

Indri Numbers That Tell the Story

Indri’s meteoric rise reads like a fairytale, but the statistics are undeniably real. From humble beginnings just a few years ago to becoming a global phenomenon, the brand has consistently defied expectations.

Indri’s Record-Breaking Performance

These numbers represent more than commercial success – they signal a seismic shift in global whisky preferences.

What Makes Indri So Special?

The secret behind Indri’s phenomenal success lies in its unique approach to single malt production. Crafted at Piccadily Distilleries in Haryana, this whisky combines traditional Scottish techniques with distinctly Indian elements that create an unmistakably premium experience.

The Craft Behind the Crown

Indri’s flagship expressions showcase the brand’s commitment to excellence:

• Indri Trini (Three Wood): Aged in three different wood types for complex flavor profiles
• Indri Dru: The award-winning expression that consistently wins international accolades
• Limited Collector’s Editions: Premium releases that sell out within hours

The brand’s success isn’t accidental – it’s the result of meticulous attention to detail, from grain selection to barrel aging in India’s unique climate.

Global Recognition and Awards Galore

Indri’s trophy cabinet tells the story of consistent excellence. The brand has been declared ‘Best Indian Single Malt’ at the World Whiskies Awards, while also striking ‘Gold’ at the Whiskies of the World Awards 2024.

These aren’t just participation trophies – they represent recognition from the world’s most respected whisky authorities, judged against premium Scottish, Japanese, and American counterparts.

The Indian Whisky Revolution

Indri’s success represents something bigger than one brand’s triumph. It symbolizes India’s emergence as a serious whisky-producing nation, challenging centuries-old perceptions about where the world’s best single malts come from.

Breaking Traditional Barriers

The whisky world has historically been dominated by Scottish distilleries, with Japanese whiskies gaining respect over recent decades. Indri’s success proves that exceptional single malts can come from anywhere – including the wheat fields of Haryana.

This shift is significant because it opens doors for other Indian distilleries and validates the country’s potential in premium spirits production.

What’s Driving This Phenomenal Growth?

Several factors contribute to Indri’s unprecedented success:

Quality Over Quantity: Despite massive growth, the brand maintains strict quality standards Strategic Pricing: Offering premium quality at accessible price points Global Expansion: Successfully entering international markets including Europe and Asia Consumer Education: Building awareness about Indian single malts among whisky enthusiasts

CEO Praveen Malviya’s vision of being “among the top single malts in the world” is clearly materializing, with each milestone bringing that ambition closer to reality.

The Road Ahead

With Indri being crowned the No. 1 fastest-growing single malt by the International Wine & Spirits Record (IWSR), the brand shows no signs of slowing down. The challenge now lies in maintaining this exceptional growth while preserving the quality that earned global recognition.

As Indian single malts gain international acceptance, Indri stands as the flag-bearer of this movement, proving that excellence knows no geographical boundaries.

The whisky world is watching, and Indri continues to deliver – one exceptional bottle at a time.
