Igor Stimac has named the 27-man squad for India’s upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers against Kuwait. The final list has been trimmed down from the two original lists that were published after the ISL final, ahead of the training camp in Bhubaneswar.

Sunil Chhetri will be playing his final India match against Kuwait on June 6 at the Salt Lake Stadium, marking the end of his illustrious career. A separate list will likely be revealed for the match against Qatar.

Goalkeepers: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Amrinder Singh, Vishal Kaith.

Defenders: Amey Ranawade, Anwar Ali, Jay Gupta, Lalchungnunga, Mehtab Singh, Narender, Nikhil Poojary, Rahul Bheke, Subhasish Bose.

Midfielders: Anirudh Thapa, Brandon Fernandes, Edmund Lalrindika, Jeakson Singh Thounaojam, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Liston Colaco, Mahesh Singh Naorem, Nandhakumar Sekar, Sahal Abdul Samad, Suresh Singh Wangjam.

Forwards: David Lalhlansanga, Manvir Singh, Rahim Ali, Sunil Chhetri, Vikram Partap Singh.

Rahim Ali’s selection over Parthib Gogoi has left fans a bit confused. However, David Lalhlansanga of I-League club Mohammedan Sporting, and soon, East Bengal, has been included in the final squad alongside Inter Kashi’s Edmund Lalrindika.
