As per the BCCI guidelines, all the members of the Indian team will directly enter into IPL team bio-bubbles once the England series comes to an end.

The Indian team is currently playing against England. They are yet to play a 3 matches ODI series. According to just-released BCCI’s bio-secure protocols for IPL 2021, the board has denied any break to meet family members or anyone ahead of IPL 2021.

If any player decides not to join the bio-bubble, he will have to go under 7 days quarantine before joining their respective franchise.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, BCCI will allow Bubble to Bubble transfers for the Indian team players and any foreign player coming in from Bio-Bubble of their national squad.

BCCI stated, “Players coming directly from the Bubble created for India vs. England series, may be permitted to join the franchise squad without serving the mandatory quarantine period, provided they satisfy the criteria of moving directly to the franchise team hotel either in the team bus or on a chartered flight.”

The rules of the bio-bubbles are-

  1. Bubble-to-Bubble transfer rules will apply only if they are flying by chartered flights.
  2. There will be a total of 12 bubbles. 8 for franchise teams and support staff, 2 for match officials, and 2 more for broadcast commentators and crew.
  3. As BCCI officials will not be part of any bubble, they cannot interact in person with any player, team support staff, match management teams, and broadcast crews.
  4. There will be 4 Bubble integrity managers for each team. They will have a close look at all the members and will report to the BCCI Chief Medical if anyone breaches the protocols.

IPL is going to start on the 9th of April. Before that, it is a big task for BCCI to assure the safety of every player.
