Indian Bank sponsored a Multi Utility Vehicle to Udayam Charitable Society, Kozhikode, under CSR, as a part of the ongoing “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebrations.
On behalf of the Bank, Shri Sudhir Kumar Gupta, Field General Manager, Indian Bank, Bengaluru handed over the key of the multi-utility vehicle to Dr. NTL Reddy IAS, District Collector, Chairman Udayam Charitable Society in the presence of Ms. Vijaya Balasubramanian, Zonal Manager, Kozhikode and other staff members of the Bank.
The Udayam Project is a charitable unit under the chairmanship of the Kozhikode District Collector. The society envisages comprehensive rehabilitation of the homeless, including COVID-19 prevention, family reunion, food, healthcare including major surgeries, accommodation/hostel facility, clothing, facilitating government identity cards, skills training, employment facilitation, etc.
In his address, Shri Gupta stated that Indian Bank has always been at the forefront to support the needy sections of society as part of its CSR activities. “It is essential for achieving poverty reduction and sustainable economic and social development. As responsible corporate citizens, it is our moral duty to ensure that the bank contributes meaningfully to all initiatives protecting the interest of society. The importance of health has been appreciated more in the present day and time when during the last two years, establishments across the globe faced several challenges in providing timely and quality healthcare to its people.”
