India won the first T20I series of the year, against Sri Lanka. In the third T20I, Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav smashed his 3rd T20I century which helped the team win. India posted huge total of 228/5 in 30 overs this Saturday and Sri Lanka could muster only 137 in 16.4 overs. Hardik Pandya and Co. defeated the visitors by a huge margin of 91 runs.

Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav scored his third T20 ton against Sri Lanka in the final T20 match of the bilateral series at Rajkot on Saturday. India posted a challenging total of 228/5 in this shortest format of the game. Indian bowler Arshdeep Singh also showed impressive performance that helped the hosts with a comfortable victory. He bagged three wickets while Yuzvendra Chahal and speed star Umran Malik picked two. Yadav smashed an unbeaten 112 off 51 deliveries. Initially, the hosts lost Ishan Kishan for 1, Rahul Tripathy for 35 and Shubman Gill for 46. The 49 run partnership between Tripathi and Gill was broken by Chamika Karunathre. After his fall, Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill kept scoring for the team. From the opposition, Pathum Nissanka had a decent start along with Kusal Mendis. The former smashed five boundaries and two sixes. Their 44 run-stand was however broken by Axar Patel as he dismissed the later for 23 runs in 15 deliveries. In the next over, Nisanka was removed by younster Arshdeep Singh. In the 17th over, he again scalped captain Dasun Shanaka’s wicket followed by Dilshan Mandushanaka. Sri Lanka was all bundled out for 137 in just 16.4 overs.
