Jhulan Goswami and Meghna Singh took the opening wickets of Tammy Beaumont and Dani Wyatt very early as the team gave the opposition a target of 135 runs. Jhulan became the first cricketer to take 250 wickets in women’s ODIs. Nat Sciver hit 45 runs in 46 balls and made the position of England very stable. England’s skipper Heather Knight played the anchor’s role and mustered a half-century unbeaten and wrapped the game up in 20 overs with four wickets in the pocket.

From the Indian team, Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh and Jhulan Goswami had provided resistance against England’s bowling attack. England’s skipper Heather Knight won the toss and India was put to bat first. India didn’t have a very good performance and chose to bat first in the first 17 overs. India lost their early wickets of Yastika Bhatia and skipper Mithali Raj to Shrubsole had a run-out of Deepti Sharma as she departed to a brilliant throw from Kate for a duck. Spinner Charlotte dismissed Harmanpreet Kaur and Sneh Rana in just three balls. Smriti Mandhana could muster just 35 runs and Pooja Vastrakar and India got bowled out soon.
