India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Day 2: Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer helped India with an 80-run lead

On the second test, Day 2, Bangladesh ended with a score of 7/0. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer’s 159-run stand took India to a score of 314 runs. Right now, India is now leading with 80 runs. Captain KL Rahul tripped awkwardly, almost being caught on the crease. Shubman Gill had a good start but could add only a six to his existing score in the first seven overs.

Indian batters Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer had a partnership of 159 runs in 182 deliveries that helped India recover from the loss of early wickets on Day 2. Pant has now 55 sixes in test cricket. Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Cheteshwar Pujara got dismissed in the first session, and Virat Kohli in the second session. Sooner, Iyer and Pant began aggressively maintaining their run rate and making India surpass Bangladesh’s total. Pant got dismissed on 93 off 104 balls and this is the sixth time that he fell in the 90s. Iyer too got out on 87 off missing his century. The visitors were bundled out for 314 runs and took a lead of 87. The second day ended with Najmul and Zakir Hasan being at 7/0 trailing the visitors by 80 runs. On Day 1, Bangladesh had chosen to bat at Mirpur but India had knocked them out for 227 runs. For India, Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin each scalped four wickets, and Jaydev Unadkat, who had not played for the side in 12 years, had taken two. Mominul Haque of Bangladesh performed an outstanding 84-run effort before being bowled out by Ashwin.
