India ended Day 1 of the second test at Shere Bangla National Stadium Shaka, at 19/0. KL Rahul and Shubhman Gill were unbeaten as India has to chase 208 runs more. As India batted through eight overs in the third session of the day, Shubman Gill and captain KL Rahul were on 14 and 3, respectively. Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin’s four-wicket haul restricted the hosts to 227. Bangladeshi player Mominul Haque’s knock of 84 runs was brilliant just before he got dismissed by Ashwin. Jayadev Unadkat made a comeback and scalped 2 wickets giving 50 runs ad India bundled Bangladesh in 73.5 overs. Besides him, no other batter could put up a show. Others got starts but couldn’t build on them. After going 5 for 14 in the lower order, Taskin gained some speed and occasionally used seam movement to challenge the batters. Shakib tricked Rahul as well as got Gill into trouble. He’ll try to dismiss the top-order batters right away. India, though, is now in the lead.
